How we became a regional leader in power conversion technology

Our company was founded in 1993 under the name GLC Controls.

By July 2005, GLC Controls employed 12 people at our Prince George CSA/UL-certified facility. That’s when employee Kam Ghuman, a salesperson with an entrepreneurial dream, decided against starting his own power systems company and purchased GLC Controls instead. Why? Because he knew the hard-working people who worked there and understood the innovative, customer-centred spirit that permeated the company and decided it would be folly to set himself up as a competitor.

With Kam Ghuman at the helm as president, our company embarked upon a wave of growth throughout Western Canada. In 2007, we opened our Calgary office in order to better serve our customers in the oil & gas sector. Offices in Edmonton and Winnipeg followed in 2010.
In April 2012, GLC Controls became 3 Phase Power Systems – a nod to our company’s sharpened focus on industrial motor controls and power conversion technology.

In 2013, 3 Phase Power Systems merged with TDS Controls and thereby acquired our second CSA/UL-certified facility in Delta, BC, near Vancouver.

Now headquartered in Delta, 3 Phase Power Systems has five offices from Winnipeg to Prince George and a team of highly experienced engineers, technicians and industrial electricians – many with more than 25 years in the industry. We supply industrial power conversion technology across Western Canada and around the globe, and we’re constantly searching for innovative ways to improve and serve our clients.

Excellence. Innovation. Accountability.

That’s 3 Phase Power Systems.
